Every once in a while a handful of my friends from film school like to get together (along with whoever other filmy people we can lump in with us) and participate in our local 48 hour film festival. If you haven’t heard of it and you’re someone who enjoys making videos of virtually any level you should check out the 48 hour film festival closest to you!
In it’s simplest terms, a 48 hour film festival basically means that a group of teams all come together at the beginning of a weekend to draw three things out of a hat that determine how they will write, produce, edit and turn in a short film within 48 hours of their assignments! It’s actually pretty challenging but it’s a ton of fun so I really can’t recommend it enough.
Even if you don’t make videos yourself it can be a lot of fun because the following weekends are screenings for all of the different groups’ films and finally a night of the best films where the winners of various different categories are awarded!
Not only was it awesome trying to produce a film with these crazy circumstances but really cool to screen in such a nice theatre as the Ron Robinson Theatre in downtown Little Rock.
So all of that to say here’s the trailer for our short film, “Open Bar, Closed Casket” produced in cooperation with the 48 hour film festival!
