“The Greater Good”

I'm usually not a *fan* of fan films but this one is actually pretty great…er..good! Below is my review of the video. ENJOY

I think if there were a little makeup and other physical effects, especially during the actual physical fighting sequence I would have been entirely won over and this would be spectacular. Through all of the things that go on in this scene there is no way the characters wouldn't be showing any sign of physical harm. Otherwise, everything looked pretty good. The beginning felt slow. It seemed as though the actors hadn't really gotten into their groove yet but, they settled in later in the film. The same could be said for the camera ops and the angles that were chosen. I understand that it may have been an artistic choice to give the audience a sense of crescendo but, the way the beginning was shot is so much more detached than the conclusion that it takes away from the first half of the film. With that being said, the second half of the film was spectacularly shot and I really enjoyed some of the choices. Especially the matching upward singles of Christopher and Josh when Gellert and Albus's spells met. That moment felt like it was straight out of the original series. The story was really well done as well. I'm a fan of the movie series as well as the book series and I thought this fit in nicely. Like I said, one of the moments in the fight scene really felt spot on.All in all, I really enjoyed it. Well done.
